December Hols are here once again!!

So many things have changed since I last blogged here. Ever since entering uni.
- I learnt a lot. Not just academic-wise. but also, to manage time wisely, to be more responsible and accountable for my personal actions.
- I made new friends in the U, some great friends in my course, in my hall. I've got to learn to treasure them and also not to neglect my old friends.
- I became closer to my xiao mei and her roomie. LOL.
- I began to see things in different ways.
- I realised how foolish I am with regards to certain things where I kept on hoping for it to happen but it didn't and probably never will turn out the way I want it to.

I guess it is all part of growing up. But there are still so many things for me to learn yet.

Semester 1 just flew by in the blink of an eye. I remember telling ppl around me how ridiculous it was that for uni, one semester was 3mths long. The reaction I got was:
"You sure anot? Not one term ah?"
"Serious??"
My friends and I wondered why the university worked in such a strange way, cramming everything into 3 mths, meaning 2 semesters in a year, approx 6-7mths, followed by some really long holidays. I mean, why couldn't they have spread it out so that we could have more time to learn more effectively? Oh wells.
Before I knew it, exams were fast approaching. I couldn't cope with Hall polo training, often having to skip trainings though it was just once a week just in order to ensure that I had time to catch up with my preparation for the exams. Home and hall became like prisons to me where I was cooped up. And where I studied. And studied. And studied. My dear lappy often became the only source of escape from the dredgery of eternal boredom. haha. Being a little over-expressive here...
Finally the exams began. With whatever limited preparation I had. But looking back, it was like what Guozheng told me a few days ago - bits and pieces of what we initially did not comprehend during lessons gradually fell into place and started to make sense, slowly but eventually. Maths paper and Econs in a day, followed by Physics, which was horrible as usual. Then Computing. Then Material Science. Oh, and there was time to celebrate Xiao Sian's 19th birthday in between. Glad that Funky and I managed to give her a very happy birthday celebration, though simple it was, and celebrated in hall.
Then 26th Nov came. The most dreaded paper - AE1001: Aerospace Discovery Course. How ironic. My interest. Well, sort of. Not exactly what a pilot needs to learn. But still, for something of interest to be something dreaded is quite incredibly.. ironic to say the least. It didn't help with lecturers teaching vaguely and putting fanciful equations in the notes to, quote, "make the notes look nice". Thankfully the paper was quite ok in the end.
And so the holidays have begun! No more having to stay up till 2 plus, 3 just to mug and mug! Yesss! =)
So far it's been pretty good. Hectic but fun. After the aero paper on Wed, I had a wonderful dinner with Ze Lin, Issac and Hlaing Soe at JP Billy Bombers, followed by watching Madagascar 2. For those who have not watched it, you should. Haha. You're guaranteed one heck of a laughter! Oh yeah also met up with GV Boon Lay Duty Manager Chang De. LOL. No free tickets for me though! Darn. Haha.
Thurs was spent at Yi Xiang's house playing Flight Simulator and learning about basic techniques and how the flight management system works. Pretty cool stuff. I just love the rudder pedals, the joystick and throttle tab. Not to mention how realistic his simulator software is. LOL. Oh yah and we played NFS too.. Dinner was prepared by his Mum. Simple yet wholesome. I liked it. A lot. Haha. A great day all in all.
Den I played soccer at NTU with Guozheng and his friends on Friday morning, followed by lunch with him at Joo Seng. Boy! was the Mee Pok Chilli hot ah!! haha. I also realised just how unfit I had become after nuaing for so long!
It was to be confirmed on Saturday when I met Kenny to take my IPPT @ Bedok Camp.

2.4km - 11.10min

Goodness. That was my slowest timing for a 2.4km ever. Of course, the weather was very hot. But that was no excuse. I managed to get Silver. I wanted Gold. But I had no right to ask for Gold given how unfit I was. 16th Dec. I booked another slot. One more chance before the window closes. haha. Then we had Cheng Ting at the Kopitiam opposite the camp. Fantastic thirst-quenching dessert for a terribly hot weather.

That's how my holidays have unfurled so far. Hectic, but fun. More of the same to come in the next few weeks. Choir camp, hall waterpolo games, darts, caroling (both school and church choir), soccer at ECP cage on 29th, possible chalet from 22-24th, Mum's and Kenny's bdae coming up, K session with Xiaoxian and Funky when she gets back, possible farm visits, kite flying, cycling... Yups. It certainly can't get much more hectic. or exciting.

Oh. And of course. 18th December isn't that far away either.

About time I updated this blog of mine....

Wow. It's been more than 2 mths since I last updated this space. Think I've been working too hard alr. Just last night I dreamt I was in this dirty toilet and I was given this water hose. And yes, I went abt cleaning the toilet for some reason. Terribly strange dream. I must be overworked. Or that I'm thinking too much abt things. No thanks to Alex who gave me more food for thought than I already needed last night. Thanks a heap Alex...

It's been ages since I last watched a movie. So today finally went to watch Iron Man. With my dad. Lolx. I wished I could have watched it with her but then again... =/
Anw heard from several ppl that it was a good show to catch, and I must say I was not disappointed. The technology, the storyline, the characters, sense of humour. Not bad at all. Probably rated the show abt 3.5/5... =P

Was supposed to watch it with that xiao mei of mine on Vesak Day. BUT.. when we met, she happily said, 'I dun wanna watch movie today leh'. Wonderful. Oh wells. Not that it was a bad thing either. We had some good time at Donut Factory, or shld I say, I had a good time at Donut Factory (The Strawberry White Choc Donut rox). After which we went to Starbucks Coffee to chill. I enjoyed spending time talking and just relaxing with my xiao mei. haha.

And then I met Derek Tew, who's working there. Talk abt coincidence. Just bumped into Brandon on the train on my way there, then met Derek at Starbucks. Met 2 army friends in one day. haha. Anw Derek, she's NOT my gf lar. too short alr. hahaha. kidding hor xiao mei =p

Last week was invited for this C N Yang scholarship interview by NTU. Rmb wondering what kind of interview would it be; did a bit of preparation for any standard questions that would come along, for e.g. Wad are your aspirations, why do you think we shld offer you this scholarship... And then when I went in for the interview on Tues, they asked all abt Physics questions. Thanks a lot lor. I haven't been in touch with my Physics for like... 2 yrs?? Lolx. And they asked things like gravitation, Physics of fluids.. WTH. But there was one question which was interesting - It was abt this 3 cities, for example, Tokyo, this other city and New York being on the same latitude on the Earth. that means they are on a straight line. However, when an airplane flies over from Tokyo to NY, why does it not fly straight over the middle city but instead, flies over the North Pole? Never ever thought abt such a thing in my life. LOL. The interview was quite an experience lar. Results shld be out this week but I'm definitely not optimistic abt it. Anw alr very lucky to be given the chance for the interview le. So just see how it goes. If I get it, well and good. If not, life goes on. hahax..

Been thinking of lots of stuff these few days. Wondering if I'm wasting my life, this 8mths of pre-uni life. Has it been all wasted on working, working, and just working for money? Sighs. So fast uni gg to start le. In abt 2 mths time. Back to the stress-pot again.

I haven't learnt how to play my guitar, haven't read up on Aerospace. and I really need to start working out to get back in shape from all the eating b4 gg in. Really hope there's abt enough time to do all these btw the time I stop work and b4 I go in to uni.

At least there's one thing unique I tried - I went prawning!! hahaha. Totally new experience. I've only been fishing once before this.. Years ago at Sultan Shore with Uncle Boon. Can hardly rmb anything to do with fishing, prawning, or catching whatever live seafood have you. haha. Was invited coz of Shurun's bday celebrations. Went to this prawning shack at Bishan after work around 11 plus. Was actually lazy to go but nevertheless went in the end. Thankful that I went. Prawning is really fun. It's just that you have to be really patient and luck counts too i guess. So many baits in the water, why should the prawn choose your bait leh? haha.. somehow the alignment of the bait actually matters. Strange but yeap. Spent 3hrs there but surprisingly was not that tired at all. Although the both of us only caught 2 prawns the whole night lor. Haha very shi bai. Mark, Jason, the Joyces, Jiazheng, Yichao and Matthew also went. and yes Yichao, I enjoyed myself that night in more ways than one. =)

I wanna spend more time at the library reading up, or gg to Borders just to find a good book to buy and read. haha really feel that my current state of knowledge is pathetic. Been keeping up to date with newspapers though. That's one good thing. =)

Sad to read things abt the disasters in Myanmar and China.. Especially in Myanmar. How the ppl need help desperately but yet the military junta does not want to open its doors to accept foreign assistance freely. It's sickening. Donated $20 to the Red Cross last Sunday. Although I have serious doubts if it would ever reach those victims in Myanmar to help them in any way at all. hahax sighs. This world has so many problems.... Where is GOD?? =/

Sometimes I wonder if I make certain things seem more complicated than they shld be. Do I really think too much? Lolx.. Anw I wanna go cycling!! Been dragging it for so long. Wonder when I'd ever be able to do it. Then Jiazheng the other day was mentioning we shld go to the beach and chill. Hmmz shld go Sentosa one of these days to laze on the beach and get a tan. Hehx..

Tonight's gonna be a night of tension again. Yups. It's the Champions League final. My Dad's sure gonna be making hell lot of a noise. Even though he promises to keep quiet tonight. haha. Man Utd pls pls win tonight.. Otherwise I really wouldn't have the mood to work tmr. Lolx.

Refreshing life for latest updates...

Oh wells. Just one thing to say today - Happy 21st birthday Sheldon!! Thanks for inviting to the party yesterday manz. enjoyed myself quite a fair bit. and it was good to see the woody gang and Marie again. =)

Almost halfway through the 8mths relaxing period alr. still have yet to learn how to play a guitar!! hope my organ and now guitar shi-fu clifford can guide me to pick up at least the basic stuff b4 uni starts. dreading the start of uni.. oh dear. uni hasn't even started and i'm dreading it..

Also starting to find work a bit sianz alr. nevertheless I realised that there are a few things that keep me going.. and I'm really, really, thankful for them.
1. The ICs: Jia Jia, Fred and whichever 3 that is around. haha. every IC that comes for a mth has their own interesting qualities and never fail to make life interesting. =)
2. The friends around: especially Mark, Jiazheng, Jason, Jiankai, Hongyi and Alex. all my buddies, the girls, my Xiao mei mei and of coz, that special someone (AHEM). =p it really feels like one big family in SH. probably the most impt reason why I enjoy working at SH. =D
3. the never-ending variety of customers that I face everyday
4. the ability to do provisioning - can't believe I actually came this far in SH. the previous seniors never went to the step of doing provisioning. maybe they didn't stay on long enough, maybe they didn't have the curiosity or hunger to want to learn more. hahaha whatever lar..

I wonder when am I going to tender my resignation. a bit sad to start thinking that it will all be coming to an end soon. it's been like... 4mths alr? *nostalgic moment* haha wanna plan for a vacation as well before going in uni. time really flies. have to make good use of it and plan well..

Singapore Airshow '08

I didn't get to catch the RSAF Black Knights!! Sianz. It was actually scheduled for the last show on air display!! But dunno what happened then they swapped it to the first show on display today. So.. missed it.. Sobs.. But okay lar. Managed to catch the team acrobatic display by the Royal Australian Air Force Roulettes which were pretty darn cool as well and had all the qualities of a grand finale for today's air display. so I'm not really complaining. but i really i wished i could have seen both!! Arghh.

Went there straightaway after church. BUT. the queue for the shuttle bus is downright scary lar. took abt 40mins to get to a bus. hehe and i did cut the queue abit here and there. haha bad behaviour. and den another 40plus mins to one hr wait for the shuttle bus ride back!! tsk tsk. and it's more or less the same experience as Asian Aerospace '06 lor. the static aircraft displays and the exhibitions. only this time I went alone and went late somemore. darn. nxt time in 2010 i'm juz gonna find myself a nice spot on Changi Beach and camp there to wait for the air display. hahaha. see how it goes. anyway some pics here... and one more thing. female air-force pilots are darn cool manz. they've got my R-E-S-P-E-C-T. =)

Everything

Find Me Here
Speak To Me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
You are the light
That's leading me
To the place where I find peace again.

You are the strength, that keeps me walking.
You are the hope, that keeps me trusting.
You are the light to my soul.
You are my purpose...you're everything.

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and you give me rest.
You hold me in your hands, you won't let me fall.
You steal my heart, and you take my breath away.
Would you take me in? Take me deeper now?

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Cause you're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything,everything
You're all I want your all I need
You're everything, everything.
You're all I want you're all I need.
You're everything, everything
You're all I want you're all I need, you're everything, everything.

And How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Test Test...

haha been tampering with my blogskin on my off day!! The only problem is now i cannot get the comments tab to appear on the end of my entries. & I've got no where to display my pics either. Oh wells. WHATEVER. haha. Many many thanks to Marie who helped me a lot in making this blog happen. She's really a pro @ blogging. hahaha kudos to her =) not like a particular someone whom I gave chocs and a rose on V-day. TSK. =p but then again, I sux at computer stuff. So carn really blame her la. hehx.

Juz went out this afternoon for lunch with Say Yong. It was good to catch up with him after all these times. Talked abt work, life, and more on life. hahaha. Went to this restaurant at City Plaza which was called Arnold's Chicken. It is more or less the Malay version of KFC lar. hahaha. but nevertheless the fried chicken is really yummy. =)

Attended Yi Biao's wake yesterday. Still carn believe he's gone just like that. It's really sad. Good thing was I managed to meet up with a lot of ppl who I wouldn't usually meet, like Ah John, yr 1 commander PS; the scout commanders like Jeremy, Kenneth, Wing Hoe, Zheng Jun, and of coz my Pioneer buddies. What is ironic that such a thing had to happen b4 we actually get together to meet up... and we wouldn't meet up again until perhaps, reservist?? something that i don't look forward to btw. hahaha. life. haix.

I lost a friend...

He used to be one of my section men. We used to have a lot of laughter and fun together. I rmb last year he, along with some of my platoon guys, chipped in to buy a cake specially to celebrate my birthday. I rmb taking care of him. I rmb scolding him during our Taiwan trip. I rmb having disagreements with him. All of which doesn't matter anymore. All fading into mere memories.

I even saw him less than a mth back at Fish and Co. He came up and said hi to me and jason. And now he is gone! I won't get to see him again. Only 20years old! When he shld be enjoying life and so much more to go through and experience. Life can be so cruel. so fragile. so unpredictable. Haix. I still find it hard to believe =(

Goodbye Yi Biao. Do rest in peace my dear friend.

For those who wish to pay their last respects, the wake will be at Blk 72, Geylang Bahru, till Friday morning.
